Shootouts have been postponed until Sunday July 10 due to poor weather conditions. Registration, practice and race times remain the same for Sunday's event.

Drag Strip Construction Update - January 2012
2011 was a very productive year for the CAR Drag Strip, thanks to the hard work of many individuals the drag strip base work has been completed. The drag strip elevations are above engineer design and significant work has been completed to expand and enhance the drainage to the entire facility. In the spring we'll all have our fingers crossed as the snow melts confirming correct water run-off grades. Afterwards the final seal can be put on the base work as the committee engages local companies to provide the finish paving and concrete work! If all goes according to plan we should be having our annual shoot-outs on the 1/4 mile drag strip in July.

Drag Strip Construction Update - June 2011
The team has been putting in some long hours particularly the past couple of weeks to get the drag strip up to grade in preparation of laying pavement this summer. Currently the two drag lanes are up to engineering specified grades, just some minor feathering required to blend everything together remains, than it should almost be ready for gravel once the engineers sign-off on the work done to date. The team is now just beginning work on the return road followed by the staging and pit areas.

Drag Strip 2011 Planning Meeting - Thursday March 17, 6:00pm @ Rimbey Community Center (Kinsmen Room)
 Join us for a focused discussion on CAR's drag strip, The tender process to completed the strip for the 2011 race season unfortunately resulted in unattainable financial targets for our volunteer, donation based organization. This meeting is open to anyone interested in understanding and assisting CAR move the drag strip construction to completion in 2011.
